Low-cost Educational Opportunities for Edmonton Non-profit Organizations

September 15th, 2006 · No Comments

The Tap-In program makes course space available to non-profit staff and volunteers for a nominal fee. Currently, courses are available in these categories:

  • Administration
  • Board Governance
  • Communication
  • Computer Skills
  • BasicComputer Skills
  • Moderate/Advanced
  • Financial
  • Fundraising
  • Leadership
  • Reports / Proposals
  • Supervision
  • Volunteer Management
  • The Tap-In managers work with Educational Facilities to identify educational opportunities. When a new educational opportunity is available it is posted to the web site.

Staff and volunteers from non-profit organizations go to the Tap-In web site and complete an on-line form to register in the program and identify their training needs. Once approval has been received from their agency they are added to the Tap-In on-line data base.

As educational opportunities become available the data base will generate an email to interested students.

Although the program operates on a ‘first come first served’ basis, managers of Tap-In will endeavour to ensure that there is a fair and equitable distribution between students and agencies.
