Recruitment and Retention of Employees in a Culturally Diverse Environment

April 19th, 2006 · No Comments

Research
conducted in 2005 showed that the biggest benefit of diversity is the
ability of organizations to recruit and retain high quality staff.
(Conference Board)

Human resource professionals who bring an awareness of cultural
differences to their organization are better able to focus their
recruitment efforts in an appropriate manner. The organization can
become an inclusive workplace expanding recruitment possibilities and
increasing retention of good employees.

This one day workshop is designed to give practical advice to
employers about the recruitment and retention of workers in a
culturally diverse setting. The North American process of job search,
recruitment and job maintenance is culturally specific and not
universal. This workshop will help you to:

• Evaluate your own recruitment and management practices with respect to recognizing North American biases and assumptions
• Cope with cross-cultural misunderstandings occurring during interviews and in workplace situations
• Identify ways cultural differences may influence the interview process and job performance
• Generate ideas and solutions to refine interview practices and facilitate adjustment in the workplace
